Well hello, again my friends! Today I come to speak of denim. Denim denim denim. Give me more denim. If you’ve read my Top 4 Trends of the Season post, you know how highly I revere denim in all forms, but this post is solely devoted to my undying love for it. Here I go.
This was an absolute dream to get to shoot, because first of all, look at how beautiful this place is. Second of all, I got to bring one of my nearest and dearest friends Courtney along for the journey. (You all should check out her blog here!) On top of it, perhaps the biggest denim fan of them all, Aubrey Vassburg, came along to take some photos for us.
Courtney and I are twins in our sorority (eckkhem go Chi O), which is fitting because we are very similar. It’s not uncommon for us to show up at dinner wearing the exact same thing. However at the same time, there are still a lot of subtle differences in our personalities and styles. I think the way we styled these outfits reveals a lot about our differences and similarities. It’s basically the same outfit, but we still remain unique to ourselves. Court is romping around in this thrifted jean skirt that she cut herself because they forgot to take off the sensor (when life gives you lemons…), a boxy lace top, and some chunky heels. And a bandana on her sweet head to hide her bangs, because she hates them even though I love them. I on the other hand am wearing this thrifted overall dress over my absolute favorite For Love and Lemons top with the most uncomfortable yet adorable clogs you’ll ever see, and an ascot for good measure.
At first the whole bandana around your neck situation was not my favorite, but after a while, it’s grown on me. It adds a certain flair a necklace just can’t do for you. This may be a weird thing I shouldn’t tell people, but whenever I see an outfit that I really like or really don’t like I tend to name the vibe of it in my head to make a mental note of the vibes I like and the vibes I don’t. I call this one “boho cowgirl.”
There you have it! We love denim. Whether you’re head to toe shades of faded blue or just a jean shorts type of girl, I think it’s safe to say that denim is for everyone. Thanks for reading!
P.S. Boho cowgirl is probably a bad example, but if you had to classify your style, what would it be? Let me know in the comments down below. Have a lovely week! You can do it!
